I'm interested in doing my own 12 "fashion doll because the good those really are for sale are so expensive. Does anyone know how I can do to make my own fashion doll molds with plastic, rubber or other materials? I am not interested in transforming a doll that is done, but from scratch. You have to make a original model. One method is to work with ever tightening soft clay modeling oil (clay) there is a version like it, you paint with many layers latex molding material (or the use of RTV silicone rubber side molding), again with plaster mold and remove the rubber soft clay carefully. If desired, you can keep maintain and modify the model and revision in order to make a different version without having to build everything from scratch (such as different head shape, or flatter bustier, etc. but the legs, waist, shoulders, arms did not change.) If you are going to make a figure with movable arms and legs that are complicated as they separately model each one of those and have the model of the front and back and cast in separate pieces so you can attach the arms and legs (and head?) with elastic. Once the mold is performed, then the foundry can become hard wax for their own use, or participate in opaque and clear casting resins.
